Smilegate Vietnam

Entering the Vietnam market from 2023, Smilegate Vietnam‘s mission is to provide stable development & operation of the Smilegate platform and services, expanding beyond the development center to the region and expanding into an Asian hub.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Engineering Support

• Feature Development: Assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing minor components and APIs within our current Microservices architecture under the guidance of a mentor.
• Code Quality & Testing: Learn and participate in writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests to ensure code quality and streamline the debugging process.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Help prepare technical documentation (API docs, system specs) and assist the team in aligning on technical requirements with our tech team in Korea.

2. AI Engineering & Orchestration Assist

• Prompt Engineering: Research and experiment with advanced Prompt Engineering techniques (e.g., Chain-of-Thought, ReAct) to optimize context and improve LLM response quality.
• Data & Retrieval for RAG: Participate in data preprocessing (cleaning, chunking) and structuring data to feed into Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using Vector Databases.
• AI Orchestration Frameworks: Learn, test, and configure basic autonomous Multi-Agent scenarios using libraries like LangGraph, CrewAI, or LangChain based on project requirements.
• AIOps & Evaluation Support: Assist in monitoring fundamental AI metrics such as latency, token throughput, and operational costs. Help run evaluation pipelines to measure AI quality and minimize hallucinations.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Skills

• Education: Final-year students or recent graduates majoring in IT, Computer Science, or related technical fields 
• Programming Languages: Strong programming mindset and proficiency in either Python or Java. Must be willing to learn and work with both in parallel (Python for AI workflows and Java for core backend systems).
• Computer Science Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Relational/Non-relational Databases (SQL like PostgreSQL/MySQL, or NoSQL).
• Mindset & Attitude: Good logical thinking, highly proactive in learning new tech stacks, responsible, and committed to project goals.

Nice to have 

• Prior experience with academic or personal projects utilizing APIs from OpenAI, Claude, or hosting local LLMs (Llama, Mistral via Ollama/vLLM).
• Basic understanding or familiarity with RAG workflows, Vector Databases (Milvus, Pinecone, pgvector), or AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph).
• Basic knowledge of Git and Docker. Conceptual understanding of Microservices is a major plus.
